I now work for a medical billing company called ABEO. More specifically I work in the Mountain West Anesthisia branch. I am a clerk and I love it. My boss’s name is Keeley and she is pretty cool. I also work with a girl named Holli. She is way cool and I’m sure we will soon become friends outside of work. Recently a lot of people have been getting fired which is pretty scary. But as long as you do your job and you do it well you will be fine so I’m really not worried. It is a good fit for me and I love trying new things so this adventure should be pretty exciting!

I am loving the music that is out right now. I have a lot that is inspiring me as far as the music catagory of hip-hop is concerned. I was going to post one of my most favorite music videos but the embed feature has been pulled which is super lame. I just want to reiterate how important music is in my life. I can’t go more than 2 hours without hearing some sort of music or I litterally start to go crazy. I listed to music at work, in my car, at my house (on huge speakers), and if there is no music playing where ever I happen to be I will just sing to myself! I have a strong passion for music which is very hard to explain. I listed to my music loud because I litterally love “feeling” it. I love the bass and the vibration that you can feel in your chest. If you don’t know me yet one of the first things that you will figure out is that music is one of the things at the center of my world and so is dance. I have never and will never stop dancing. It’s what I was born to do and it is all I am. The end.

Hey guys. I know I haven’t written in a while and a lot has gone on so here we go. I am a homeowner! Aaron and I bought a house together in Daybreak. It is beautiful and I am really excited about it. I no longer work at IKEA. I got a job as a medical billing clerk at a company called ABEO. I absolutely love it so far but it has only been three weeks… I am in school taking three classes which are kicking my ass. I recently lost about 30 pounds using HCG and I couldn’t be happier about it but I still have a long way to go. I had a life changing epiphany around August and it changed my entire outlook on life. I feel extremely enlightened and I realized that I really haven’t been true to myself in a long time so I am slowly bringing more of “me” into my life. I still don’t have any pets but I plan to introduce some sort of pet into my home soon. I just got my hair done today and I’m not loving yet, and it’s almost Halloween which is cool. The last sentence is kinda random but I wanted to throw it in there. Peace out!

Um, can I get a hell no?! If there was ever a case for the empowerment of women I’m pretty sure this is it! So what if Eve ate the fruit? She ate it and knew the truth! Would God rather have her live a life of nothing but fantasy and wonderment? I read this verse when I was very young and was questioning the concept of religion. It was on this day that I all but made my mind that God would not give me more hardships than a man and would certainly not want anyone to rule OVER me.

I am so glad that Aaron hasn’t read this verse in the Bible because then we would really be in trouble. He went to 8 years of Bible school but I’m pretty sure they skipped or altered this chapter! I don’t regret Eve eating that apple and I think that her dumb ass husband shouldn’t have eaten the apple. He did right by listening to her but that just goes to show that most men don’t think for themselves and in the end we always end up screwing them in some way!!

Don’t forget that it was ONLY AFTER Eve at the apple that they were introduced to the Devil and all the fun things in life! Come on now, they didn’t have sex until after they ate the freaking apple!!

Internet Textbook Scams

I am really sick and tired of scams on the Internet. I recently decided to try and sell my textbooks using buy back websites. If it weren’t for Aaron asking me to double check to make sure that they were legit I probably would have been successfully scammed. I got a great quote from a company and I was getting ready to package my book up today and decided to do a little research first. As it turns out most of these buy back companies are scammers. They apparently say that your package got lost in the mail and they never received it. Or that when they opened the box the book was more damaged than they originally thought. How lame is that? I am now going to sell my book through a more controllable medium like KSL or e-bay. I am really glad I looked into some of these companies I was going to “get money from”. My first tip-off should have been when Aaron asked me if I got the money first or if they had to get the book before they would give me my money. Well duh! I am so innocent it made sense to me that they would have to look at my book to determine how much money I would actually be getting. Dumb dumb dumb and I almost fell for it! I thought I found a great website that reports Internet scams but then I found a website saying that the report website was also a scam!!! How am I supposed to keep anything straight? I almost don’t want to use the Internet for anything, except for my wonderful website of course! You won’t find any scams here! Not even a lie! This is straight up and real stuff on shaylaknielson.com!

I’m pretty mad about this whole thing and if you know anyone who needs a few textbooks send them my way cuz I really need extra money and I really want these stupid books out of my house!

Vegas Baby!!

O yes folks that right! I am off to Vegas yet again! I am especially excited for this trip because it is my very first unsupervised trip in my life! That’s right, no parents, no family! We will be going with three friends but I can’t say that they are any more “adult” than I am! We will be staying at Encore Las Vegas which is Steve Wynn’s new signature tower. We are probably going to see La Reve again which is so unbelievably fantastic I can’t use words to describe the experience. I have money in my bank account this time around which I believe will help me have a better trip than I have in the past. I am going to start online gambling now since I have never gambled for real in my life. I will be sure to bring back pictures and such because I know I will have to document this momentous occasion. Be excited for me and be very scared because Vegas brings out a very different side of Shayla than most people have seen, and this time I am totally unsupervised, with the exception of having Aaron beside me every step of the way!

Watch out Vegas! Here we come!!

The Twilight Series

O yes it is time for me to address my infatuation with the Twilight series (shut up Aaron). I recently became obsessed with the Twilight books by Stephanie Meyers. My 10 year old niece was bugging me day in and day out to start reading them and I finally gave in. I was addicted to each book which took about 6 hours per book to read through. I thought they would be super lame and supernatural. It wasn’t until I was done reading the third book until I realized why I adored them so much. I love the Twilight series so much because I think that the relationship between Edward and Bella represents what I have going on with Aaron. I’m not saying Aaron is a vampire and that I am an uncoordinated quite girl because that is so far from the truth! I am saying that all the simple things like how Edwards kiss leaves Bella breathless sounds so cheesy but that is what I am living. Aaron’s kiss still leaves me breathless and everytime he touches me I feel like electricity is running through my veins.

I am almost terrified to admit this all because it sounds so incredibly cheesy but it’s reality. I really connect with Bella when it comes to how she feels for Edward. Besides, this is the sexiest book I have ever read in my life and I have read a lot of books! My Aaron bought me the whole set from Costco and I thank him so much because it just reminded me that the way I feel for Aaron has been felt by someone else fictional or otherwise and that is such a comforting thing. I will stop being all mushy gushy now.

If you want a book with love, adventure, friendship, comedy, sadness, and vampire sex I suggest you pick up your own copy of all four books that comprise the Twilight series because I assure you that you won’t regret it!

Going to Flemings

Guess what?! Aaron is going to take me to Fleming’s! If you don’t know what Fleming’s is it is a nice steakhouse kinda like Ruth’s Chris. It is located at the Gateway which is awesome because I love it down there even though Aaron hates it. They have a special going on which is a dinner for two for $89.99. You get two fillets, shrimp, salad, potatoes, peas, and a dessert that looks heavenly. I will let you know how it went! This is how I know when Aaron gets paid because we get to go somewhere nice and it is usually to get steak. Steak is Aaron’s comfort food, he also does this when he is celebrating. I’m not sure what we are celebrating but I’m pretty excited. I’m a fan of steak, a purebred carnivore!

Alright people. I went to Flemming’s and it was by far the best meal I have ever eaten. If you have never been to Fleming’s I really urge you to go because it is postively exquisite! It’s quite pricey but entirely worth it. OMG I’m so in love with Fleming’s!
