Alright, you know how people you haven’t seen in a while always ask “how are you?” “what’s new?”. Well this is going to be my post for everyone who wants to know what I’m up to lately so i don’t have to answer those questions anymore.
In April of 2007 I moved in with Aaron. He bought a townhouse in South Jordan in a community called Wyngate. We decided to put the house solely under his name in case we decided to break it off. We haven’t broken it off and I don’t think we are going to which is good news I think. We looked at a place out in Daybreak and Aaron wanted that one and thank god that didn’t work out because this is a much better situation. We never officially had a house warming party because the inside of our house was bare because we had to furniture and neat things like that. I would say that that is a huge disadvantage of living with someone before you are married. When you get married people buy you gifts to put in your house. When you move in with your boyfriend you just get the stuff that your family is willing to part with. Don’t get me wrong I am very very thankful for everything that we were given I’m just kinda bummed that we still don’t have one single clock hanging in this house because I would have put that on my registry! The one thing I love most about this house is the fact that I have my own office and loft. I love having my own space because I never got to live on my own and I don’t think I would have liked to live on my own but this gives me a little independence. And that is my current living situation.
I work at IKEA. Some people think it’s cool some people think that I have a stupid job but hey at least I have a job! I used to work upstairs in the administrative offices dealing mostly with computers. In September I was offered a new position working in the home delivery area and I took it. I was liking that for a while because it was a lot different than what I had been doing for a year prior to that. I am now being moved around again to work in the full serve warehouse. I’m not terribly excited for the move but like I said I am just glad I have a job! And I will only say this once: YES I GET A DISCOUNT OF 15% AND NO I WON’T BUY YOU FURNITURE!!!
I have recently been offered a position judging dance competitions with Champion Dance. I am really excited to start this because I miss dance a lot and this will help ease the pain. I start in March and it only goes till May because that is the dance competition season pretty much. it is going to make working at IKEA a little difficult for a while but I’m pretty sure that is will be worth it. And that is my working situation.
On to school…or not. I usually go to school at SLCC. Right out of high school I got the Dean’s Departmental Scholarship for business because I had done so many business classes in high school and I did well in all of them. I was studying Business and I was liking it for the most part but then came math. I am mathematically challenged and I just don’t get it. My brother and sister are extremely gifted in the math area but not me! Between working full time and going to school full time and trying to party full time my grades started slipping. I had to repeat classes because I didn’t get a high enough grade on them the first time and I just got fed up. At the end of last semester I decided that I didn’t like the field I was going in to and if I wanted to get a degree I should try something with less math. I have now decided to pursue a degree in Psychology. I am not going to school currently because I can’t afford it. IKEA only covers the classes that are related to your job and I am not getting financial help from anyone. My only choice is to save up as much money as I can and get student loans so I can just get school over with. And that sums up my school situation.
I hope this answers all the questions about what I am doing lately so I don’t have to repeat myself time and time again. I have to get ready to go to work now but I will be trying to do a post everyday so check back and see what’s new! Thanks for reading!
